About Us

The Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company was formed by a team of volunteers that comprised mostly of neighbors, friends, and even family members. They decided that in 1967 the citizens of Kendall Park in South Brunswick Township were going to establish a fire company and break off from the Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department.

Established in 1967, the Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company is a premier provider of emergency services for the town of Kendall Park. We are located in Central New Jersey and cover around seven (7) square miles and serve approximately 10,000 citizens. We cover about 7 miles of south bound Route 1 and 7 miles of North bound Route 27. Our coverage area is mainly residential with some light commercial and industrial. Also in South Brunswick Township are two other fire companies, one being the Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department covering Monmouth Junction, Dayton and Deans; and the second being the Kingston Volunteer Fire Company covering Kingston which is in the southern end of the township.

The Kendall Park Fire Company operates out of Fire District 1, which serves Kendall Park in South Brunswick Township. There are three (3) fire districts in South Brunswick Township with each one serving a different area of the town. These fire districts serve as our primary income for equipment and operating costs, like the police our funding comes from taxation therefore there is little need in fund raising. Because fire equipment and tools cost so much, and the operating costs of running a fire company are so high the fire districts help support our financial needs.

The Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company operates out of two (2) fire stations. The main station is located on New Road which houses one (1) Class A pumper, one (1) 100’ ladder truck, one (1) medium rescue and a brush unit. Our sub-station is located on the northern end of our district on Henderson Road and houses one (1) Class A pumper, our 1971 American LaFrance antique pumper, a foam trailer, and our support unit. We are on call 24 hours a day-everyday, and just like our paid counterparts we must be ready for any type of call at any time.

Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company

As with the rest of the country, volunteer fire companies are in need of new members. Currently, all 3 South Brunswick Companies are looking for new members to join. Besides the camaraderie and knowledge gained, there are many incentives such as length of service award plans, college scholarships, life insurance coverage, etc. If you would like to be part of a great organization and give back to the Community, please contact your respective SB Fire Company mentioned in the article.

Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness to announce the passing of Chief Everett “James” McIntire (ret.). Jim was instrumental in the establishment of KPVFC being one of our Chartered Members with over 50 years of service. Having served many positions over his tenure, the knowledge and history Jim brought to our company cemented the foundation (literally) and help shape and mold the company we are today.

Mac, seeing the happiness on your face a couple weeks ago when we surprised you after our annual Santacade will be cemented in our minds forever. Thank you for all that you did. You will be deeply missed by all. Rest easy and We'll Take It From Here.

Please keep his family in your thoughts on this Christmas.

Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company is at The Home Depot (Monmouth Junction, NJ).

Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company

The partnership between Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company and the South Brunswick Home Depot goes back many years but towards the end of 2019, the partnership grew with the new store manager, Alexis Angelos. Since then, we have worked together on a number of initiatives such as Home Depot’s annual Fire Safety Workshop, took part in Home Depot’s "Doing More for Veterans" community service program which helped a local 92-year-old Kendall Park Veteran in fixing his house and more recently, the month-long Food Drive that will directly benefit the South Brunswick Social Services and our local residents. SB HD has helped not only KPFVC but other First Responders in providing PPE in the early days of Covid and continues to do a lot for South Brunswick.

Giving back to local communities is one of the core values at the Home Depot. Yesterday was another example how they fulfill their commitment. As part of their “Operation Surprise Program,” stores selected a community organization to give back to and this year, the South Brunswick Home Depot surprised Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company with a $1,000 check.

Alexis voiced that “KPVFC has been an amazing partner over the years and the store was grateful to be able to Give Back to them for all the services they do to keep our Community safe.”

“On behalf of Kendall Park Volunteer Fire Company and the Community, we want to thank the South Brunswick Home Depot for their continuous support and generous donation, and we look forward to continuing working together to better Our Community” echoed KPVFC’s President Robert Cioffi.
